Legal requirements
The 'Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005' requires all places of work to have a written fire risk assessment. This includes residential properties with shared communal areas.
Failing to abide by this can lead to the local authority prohibiting the use of the premises or issuing an enforcement notice.
